Chefs’ Hat was opened in 1996 to cater for the growing hospitality industry in and around the City and south of Melbourne. It has grown quickly and now services restaurants, bars and hotels right across the state as well as a growing group of loyal retail shoppers. 

Carrying a wide variety of crockery, cookware, glassware, cutlery, chefs wear, knives, utensils and table accessories, Chefs’ Hat has been able to service our customers, whether it be retail or wholesale with the personal attention so many of our competitors lack.

Chefs’ Hat has developed a reputation, not only for our wide product range but also for our service and attention to detail.

After seven years operating from the first floor at 306 Coventry Street, South Melbourne, Chefs’ Hat moved around the corner to 131 Cecil Street, in February of 2005. Larger premises, ground floor access and a wider variety of products, means we can service our customers a lot more efficiently. Having the largest and best appointed homeware showroom in Melbourne means Chefs’ hat now has the ability to service the general public as well as the hospitality industry.

Situated directly opposite the South Melbourne Market, Chefs’ Hat currently trades in an area of around 14,000 square feet, carrying over 10,000 lines, with a sales team of 10 to cater to customers every need.
