Chef’s Hat is the largest family-owned and operated hospitality supplier in Australia. Stocking the most comprehensive range of hospitality equipment from world-renowned brands to service the needs of the Australian hospitality industry.

When Henry Sawicki and his late wife Elizabeth founded Chef’s Hat in 1997, their aim was to service the hospitality industry with the expertise and equipment that would allow every kitchen to run at its best. It was never their intention to step into retail, but as their reputation developed, their clientele expanded, attracting buyers from restaurants, bars, caterers, hotels and the general public alike.

But this is only half of what we do; we also offer support and consultation services to all clients, big or small. From a venue’s concept design to the final touches, we have been trusted to provide advice and equipment for industry leaders such as Crown Melbourne, Victorian Racing Club, and many other renowned brands across the hospitality sector.

Our fully-stocked South Melbourne showroom caters to both hospitality professionals and amateur cooks, providing access to a wide range of products seven days a week. Housed in a historic building just across from the South Melbourne Market, Chef’s Hat is a place of inspiration, with many of the staff ex-chefs and willing to share their industry experience.
