Chef's Series | Melbourne Chefs & Restaurants
|
Chef's Series | Melbourne Chefs & Restaurants At Chef's Hat, our favourite part of the job is the people we get to work with. Every day we supply the venues and chefs who make Melbourne's food scene what it is, and we wanted a way to share those relationships properly. So we're kicking off a new Chef's Series, going behind the pass with some of the venues we work with to hear from the chefs themselves. First up, two very different Melbourne venues.
Cicciolina, St Kilda
Cicciolina, headed up by Chef Michelle Elia, has been an Acland Street fixture since opening its doors in 1993, and one of St Kilda's most loved restaurants ever since. Walk in and you'll find an eclectic art filled dining room, a serious wine list and simple, honest Italian food that keeps people coming back. We've supplied their crockery and glassware for over 30 years, along with equipment whenever the kitchen needs it. It's the kind of place that's always full, always warm and always worth the wait. Their steak tartare is a permanent fixture on the menu, changing every six weeks and always hand cut to order.
Spaghetti Club, Richmond
Spaghetti Club is the newest venue from Mamas Dining Group on Swan Street, Richmond, and we're proud to have set up their venue from the ground up. Their vodka pasta comes out of an Unox, plated on our Luzerne Astoria Rosewood crockery with Moda servingware, cooked start to finish in our cookware. The menu is built from a notebook of family recipes handed down through generations, with house made pasta, live fire cooking and Italian aperitivo hour on weekends. It's a venue built on family history, and we loved being part of bringing it to life.
Why this matters to us? Working with venues like Cicciolina and Spaghetti Club and Chef's Hat is about, whether it's a St Kilda icon three decades in or a brand new kitchen we've helped set up from scratch. This is just the start of our Chef's Series, so keep an eye out for more venues and more chefs soon. |
